The One Wild Brand Podcast

Where creative strategy meets wild growth.

When I first started designing websites, the conversation was almost entirely about SEO. We talked about keywords, title tags, page speed, and getting found on Google. While those things are still incredibly important, the way people search online is changing, and as a result, the way I design websites is changing too. A huge part of my work is now centered around AEO for Showit websites.

AEO for Showit websites has become part of every website I build because more people are asking questions in ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, and Google’s AI-powered search instead of simply typing keywords into Google. Today, I don’t just want a website to rank well. I want it to answer questions, build trust, and become a resource that both people and AI can confidently recommend.

If you’re investing in a new website, I think it’s important to understand why this shift matters and how it influences the decisions I make throughout every Showit project.

What Is AEO for Showit Websites?

Let’s start with the basics.

AEO stands for Answer Engine Optimization. Instead of optimizing your website only for traditional search engines, you’re also optimizing it for AI-powered tools that generate answers for users.

Think about how you search today.

A few years ago you may have typed:

“Showit website designer Massachusetts.”

Today, you’re much more likely to ask:

“Who designs beautiful Showit websites for service businesses?”

Or maybe:

“Should I redesign my website or just update it?”

Those aren’t keywords.

They’re conversations.

AI tools are looking for websites that clearly answer those questions with trustworthy, helpful information. That’s exactly why AEO for Showit websites has become an important part of my design process.

SEO Isn’t Dead. It’s Simply Evolving.

Whenever a new marketing trend appears, people love declaring that something else is dead.

SEO isn’t dead.

In fact, I still build every website with strong SEO fundamentals because they’re just as important today as they’ve always been.

I still pay attention to page titles, heading hierarchy, image optimization, internal linking, mobile responsiveness, page speed, and thoughtful website structure. Those best practices continue to matter because they help both search engines and visitors understand your website.

The difference is that I now ask another question throughout every project.

If someone asked ChatGPT about this topic today, would this page deserve to be part of the answer?

That simple question has changed the way I approach both website strategy and content.

Original Content Is Becoming Your Biggest Competitive Advantage

If you’ve followed One Wild Brand for any amount of time, you’ve probably heard me climb onto my soapbox about AI-generated content.

To be clear, I use AI every single day.

You’re reading an article that I used AI to help organize.

However, there is a huge difference between using AI as a tool and allowing AI to completely replace your own voice.

The internet is quickly filling with websites that all sound exactly alike. The same generic headlines. The same overused phrases. The same advice rewritten hundreds of different ways.

As a website designer, that’s the exact opposite of what I want for my clients.

I want someone to visit your website and immediately feel like they’re getting to know a real person. I want them to understand your experience, your perspective, and why you’re different from everyone else in your industry.

Ironically, that’s also what AI seems to reward.

AI doesn’t need another article that’s already been written a thousand times. It needs original experiences, thoughtful opinions, and real expertise. Those are things only you can provide.

How I Approach AEO for Showit Websites

Before I ever start picking fonts or color palettes, I spend time understanding my client’s business.

Who are they?

Who are they trying to reach?

What questions do they answer every day?

Those questions become the foundation for the website.

Instead of simply writing marketing copy, we’re creating pages that educate visitors while naturally answering the questions they’re already asking. That’s one of the biggest principles behind AEO for Showit websites, and I believe it creates a better experience for everyone.

The result is a website that feels helpful instead of salesy.

FAQs Have Become One of My Favorite Website Features

One of the biggest changes I’ve made over the past year is adding FAQ sections to almost every website I design.

In fact, I now try to include FAQs on at least two pages whenever it makes sense.

The homepage usually answers broader questions about your business, while individual service pages answer more specific questions someone may have before they decide to work with you.

This serves two important purposes.

First, it helps your visitors find answers without needing to send an email or schedule a call.

Second, it’s incredibly valuable for AEO for Showit websites because AI tools are designed around questions and answers. When your website already contains those conversations naturally, you’re making it much easier for AI to understand what you do.

For example, some of the questions I answer on my own website include:

How long does a Showit website project take?
Do I need to write my own website copy?
Will my Showit website be SEO friendly?
What’s included in a website VIP Day?
These aren’t random questions.

They’re the exact questions people ask me during discovery calls, so they deserve a permanent place on my website.

I Write Headlines That Humans Actually Understand

I love clever copy.

However, I’ve learned that clever should never come at the expense of clarity.

Years ago it was common to give every section of a website a fun, mysterious headline that looked beautiful but didn’t actually explain anything.

Today, I still want personality throughout a website, but I also want someone to immediately understand what they’re looking at.

If your visitor has to work to figure out what you do, they’re probably not going to stick around.

The same is true for AI.

That’s why I balance creative copy with descriptive headings throughout every project.

Helpful Blog Posts Are More Valuable Than Ever

I don’t believe you need to publish a new blog every week.

I do believe you should answer the questions your ideal clients ask all the time.

Every blog post becomes another opportunity to demonstrate your expertise while building AEO for Showit websites.

Instead of writing because you feel like you “should,” write because someone genuinely needs the answer.

For example, if you’re a travel advisor, you might answer questions about the best resorts for toddlers.

If you’re a dental consultant, you might explain why insurance aging becomes such a challenge for practices.

If you’re a photographer, you could write about what to wear for family photos.

Those articles continue working for you long after you hit Publish.

Internal Links Matter More Than Most People Realize

One thing I pay close attention to is how pages connect with one another.

Rather than treating every page as its own little island, I intentionally create opportunities for visitors to continue exploring.

For example, this article naturally connects to my website design services, my website audit offer, and my other blogs about SEO and website strategy.

Those internal links help visitors discover more helpful content, but they also help search engines and AI understand how your website is organized.

The more connected your content becomes, the stronger your website becomes as a resource.

Real Stories Build More Trust Than Generic Marketing

This is probably my favorite part of building websites.

Every business owner has stories.

Maybe it’s how they got started.

Maybe it’s a lesson they learned after working with hundreds of clients.

Maybe it’s a mistake that completely changed the way they approach their work.

Those stories are impossible to duplicate, and that’s exactly why they matter.

When I write website copy with clients, I’m constantly asking questions that uncover those experiences because they’re what make your brand memorable.

Anyone can ask AI to write an About page.

Only you can tell your story.

A Beautiful Website Still Matters

Sometimes conversations about SEO and AEO make it sound like design doesn’t matter anymore.

I couldn’t disagree more.

People still form first impressions within seconds.

Beautiful photography, thoughtful layouts, consistent branding, and intuitive navigation all contribute to credibility.

The difference is that beautiful design should support great content, not replace it.

My goal is always to create a website that someone remembers days later because it looked beautiful, answered their questions, and made them feel confident about taking the next step.

That’s much more powerful than simply making something pretty.

Final Thoughts

The future of websites isn’t about choosing between SEO and AEO.

It’s about creating websites that genuinely help people.

When I design AEO for Showit websites, I’m thinking far beyond colors and typography. I’m thinking about the questions your ideal clients are asking, how your expertise can answer those questions, and how your website can become a trusted resource instead of just another page on the internet.

Most importantly, I’m thinking about your voice.

As AI becomes a bigger part of how people discover businesses, originality is becoming more valuable, not less. Your experiences, your opinions, and your perspective are the things that make your website impossible to copy.

That’s exactly the kind of website I want to build.
