The One Wild Brand Podcast

Where creative strategy meets wild growth.

I recorded a podcast episode recently all about website tips for saturated markets, and honestly… it came from something I see all the time.

I’ll be working with multiple clients in the same industry — sometimes even direct competitors — and when I look at their current websites?

They all blend together.

Same structure. Same wording. Same safe design.

And if I’m being honest… if a potential client opens five tabs of those websites, they’re not remembering any of them.

So today I want to walk you through how to actually stand out. Not in an overwhelming, “reinvent the wheel” kind of way — but in a way that makes your website memorable, clear, and the obvious choice.

The Real Problem: Your Website Blends In

Let me paint a picture because this is exactly how people shop now.

Let’s say I’m looking for a dog groomer. I open a bunch of tabs — five, six, maybe more.

Most of the websites?
They’re fine. They work. Nothing is wrong.

But nothing stands out either.

Then I land on one.

It’s clear. It’s thoughtful. It actually tells me what makes them different. In this case, it was single, low-stress appointments for dogs. That immediately stuck with me.

A few days later when I go to book?

That’s the one I remember.

That’s the one I choose.

That is exactly what your website should be doing.

Your Goal Isn’t “Pretty” — It’s Memorable

This is one of the biggest mindset shifts I walk my clients through.

Your goal is not just to have a beautiful website.

Your goal is to have a website someone remembers hours — or even days — later.

Because people are not always making decisions on the spot.
They’re browsing. Comparing. Thinking. Coming back.

And if nothing sticks?

You’re out.

My Go-To Website Tips for Saturated Markets

Let’s break this down into what actually works.

1. Your Hero Section Needs to Pull Its Weight

Your hero section is the very top of your website.

It’s the first thing people see — and the place where they decide if they’re staying or leaving.

So it needs to be doing a lot, very quickly.

It should clearly answer:

  • What do you do?
  • Who do you serve?
  • What should I do next?

Here’s where I see people get tripped up.

They try to be too clever.

They write something that sounds nice… but doesn’t actually say anything.

If I land on your site and I don’t immediately understand what you do, I’m gone.

So yes — be creative.
But be clear first.

2. Speak to One Person (Not Everyone)

This one can feel uncomfortable, but it’s non-negotiable.

When you try to speak to everyone, your message gets watered down.

Instead, picture one person. Your most ideal client.

What are they thinking?
What are they frustrated with?
What language would they actually use?

Then write directly to them.

Because when someone feels like your website is speaking to them specifically — that’s when they lean in.

3. Stop Saying What Everyone Else Is Saying

This is a big one in saturated markets.

I see the same phrases over and over:

  • “Helping you thrive”
  • “Elevating your business”
  • “Taking you to the next level”

Okay… but how? And for who?

Specificity is what makes you stand out.

Instead of trying to sound polished, focus on being clear and real.

That’s what people actually connect with.

4. Personality and Professionalism Can Coexist

I think this is something a lot of business owners struggle with.

You want to be taken seriously… but you also want your brand to feel like you.

You can absolutely have both.

My brand is bold. It’s colorful. It has personality.

And at the same time, I’ve built and sold a seven-figure business. I know what I’m doing.

Those things are not mutually exclusive.

In fact, your personality is often the thing that makes someone choose you.

Because people don’t just hire services.

They hire people.

5. Lead With What Makes You Different

This is where I always tell clients to slow down and really think.

What actually makes you different?

Not just what you do — but how you do it.

It could be:

  • Your process
  • Your client experience
  • Your approach
  • Your values

In my dog groomer example, it was the single appointment model.

That one detail made the entire decision easy.

So don’t bury what makes you different.

Lead with it.

6. Show the Process (People Love This)

One of my favorite sections on a website is a simple process breakdown.

Step 1 → Step 2 → Step 3.

It doesn’t have to be complicated.

But it gives people clarity. And people love knowing what to expect.

Because at the end of the day, people don’t like surprises.

7. Make Sure Your Website Actually Works

This one sounds obvious… but I see it constantly.

Broken links. Buttons that go nowhere. Outdated pages.

And here’s the thing — even if your design is beautiful, that kind of experience breaks trust instantly.

So every once in a while, go through your site like a user would.

Click everything.

Make sure it all works.

Ready for a Website That Actually Stands Out?

If you’re reading this and thinking, “Okay… my website might be blending in,” you’re not alone.

And the good news? This is fixable.

Sometimes it’s a few strategic tweaks. Sometimes it’s a full refresh.

Either way, if you want a second set of eyes on your site, I offer free 15-minute discovery calls where we can chat through what’s working, what’s not, and what I’d recommend.

Final Thought

You don’t need to reinvent your industry.

You just need to stop blending in.

And if your website can do that?

Everything else gets a whole lot easier.
